Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Watchman House Co., LLC ("Watchman House," "we," "us," or "our") is a Florida limited liability company that operates the Christian homeschool platform available at watchmanhouse.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to every visitor, account holder, and family that uses our service.

By using our service, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

Account information

When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text).

Children's information

Parents add their children to the platform and provide information such as names (or nicknames), grade levels, birthday (month and day, used to surface birthdays on the family calendar — full year of birth is optional), curriculum selections, lesson progress, attendance, scripture memory tracking, and other educational records. Parents provide this information on behalf of their minor children.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number, CVC, or bank details. We retain a customer ID and a record of which plan you subscribed to.

Usage data

We collect basic usage data — pages visited, features used, device type — to keep the service running and to improve it.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide the homeschool platform: planning, lesson tracking, transcripts, compliance reminders.
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • To send service-related emails (receipts, account notices, important changes). We do not send marketing email unless you opt in.
  • To improve features, fix bugs, and understand how the platform is used.

4. COPPA Compliance

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") protects children under 13. We take this seriously:

  • We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
  • Only parents (or legal guardians) create accounts and add child information themselves.
  • Parents have full rights to view, edit, export, or delete any information about their children at any time.
  • For child information, the parent (or in co-op contexts, the supervising school) is the data controller. Watchman House is a processor acting on the parent's instructions.

5. Data Storage and Security

  • Data is hosted on Supabase infrastructure and encrypted at rest.
  • All traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted with SSL/TLS.
  • Row-level security policies ensure that one family's data is not accessible to another.
  • Passwords are salted and hashed; we cannot read your password.

No system is perfectly secure. We work hard to protect your data, but cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Third-Party Services

We use a small number of vendors to run the service:

  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
  • Lovable — application hosting and deployment.
  • Google — optional sign-in via Google OAuth.

Each vendor handles data under their own privacy terms. We share only what is necessary to provide the service.

7. Your Rights

You can:

  • Access the data we hold about you and your children.
  • Correct inaccurate data from your account settings.
  • Delete your account, which removes your family's records.
  • Export your data in a portable format.

To exercise any of these rights, email admin@watchmanhouse.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.

8. Children's Privacy

Watchman House is designed to be operated by parents on behalf of their families, including minor children. Although our platform contains learning content used by children, accounts are created and controlled by parents or guardians who are 18 or older. We do not require children to create their own logins, and we do not direct our marketing to children.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with information directly (without a parent's involvement), please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can clear cookies in your browser settings; doing so will sign you out.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify account holders by email.
